A CELEBRATION OF EMERGING ARTISTS

Our vision of the Back Alley Artists Night is an annual exhibition featuring the work of emerging visual artists, filmmakers, slam poets, performers and musicians while providing an opportunity for cross discipline networking and celebration.

Location: CBC Studio 700 @ 700 Hamilton Street, Vancouver, B.C. V6B 2R5

Our programming begins with the CBC Studio 700 doors opening at 7pm, Saturday, July 8, 2017. Artists, community members and guests will be invited to grab a drink and mingle before the first act of short films and performances at 7:30pm. Throughout the evening, guests are encouraged to engage with the visual art gallery incorporated into the space. With alternating twenty-minute intermissions, a total of three acts each comprised of a short film and two performances will culminate in the voting and presentation of three awards chosen by the audience.

Sunday, July 9, 2017, visual art will be available for pick up while a short series of staged readings and other presentations runs until 1pm.

Our goals:

to showcase socially conscious emerging artists from the lower mainland in an equitable fashion
to provide an opportunity for interdisciplinary artist networking
to celebrate summer and all of the challenges emerging artists overcome every year.

Participating Artists

Beginning March 25, 2017, emerging artists of all disciplines - including Visual Artists, Filmmakers, Musicians, Slam Poets and Other Performers - are encouraged to submit their work for consideration for inclusion in this weekend exhibition and the chance to win one of our sponsored Audience Choice Awards (award sponsors coming soon).
