Evening Breakdown

The Back Alley Artists Night is an annual, one night showcase brought to you by The Purple Stapler. It features the work of visual artists, filmmakers, slam poets, performance art and musicians from the Lower Mainland and provides an opportunity for cross discipline networking while celebrating amazing artists.

In order to include as many artists as we could possibly fit into one room for one exciting evening, we will be opening doors at 7pm and closing them at 11:30.  Award announcements may happen as late as 11pm but how lucky are we to have such a great lineup of artists and content! Check it out:


7pm - Guests will be invited to enter the space to mingle, interact with Uninvited Guests Collective Performance Art piece titled "Fit to Touch" and get settled

7:30pm - A Warm "Welcome to Event" from MC Claire Wemyss followed by:

ACT ONE

  1. Short film - "An Act of Inspiration" by Adriana Doris Moser
  2. Short film - "The Normans" by Angie Hawes
  3. Slam Poet - Sonder
  4. Musician - Jeff Gladstone and The Bad Ideas

Intermission One - We will take a twenty minute intermission to mingle and interact with Uninvited Guests Collective Performance Art piece titled "Fit to Touch"

ACT TWO

  1. Short film - "Killer Shot" by Fiddlestick Films

  2. Slam Poet - Mitchelos Touchie

  3. Musician - Old Soul Rebels

Intermission Two - We will take a twenty minute intermission to mingle and interact with Uninvited Guests Collective Performance Art piece titled "Fit to Touch"

ACT THREE

  1. Short Film - "Kodama" by Sammy Chien

At the close of our last musician - our lovely MC Claire Wemyss will say a quick thank you and open online voting for the 3rd Annual Back Alley Artists Night Audience Choice Awards!

Fifteen minutes later, we will announce the winners of the Audience Choice Awards and encourage conversation until the close of the night.
