Chrys·a·lis is an interdisciplinary, emerging artist spotlight featuring the three recipients of our Audience Choice Award for Performance. These three performers were voted for at the 4th Annual Back Alley Artists Night on July 8, 2017:
Tia Mueller - poet
Justin Bige - poet and activist
Kristina Lao - musician
TIA MUELLER
Born and raised in Penticton, British Columbia, Tia discovered a love for theatre when she was 11 years old. Now she is writing and performing her own brand of disarming poetry.
Justin bige
Tawahum’s poetry stokes the fire of Indigenous resistance and decolonization on Turtle Island. When he’s not reconnecting with his Dene and Cree roots, he’s making sure to connect with the Coast Salish roots of the Lower Mainland that he was born and raised in.
kristina lao
A nerdy, wordy, folk-loving singer-songwriter, actor, and local music & media community advocate. Featuring rich Brit-lilt vocals and long, lyrical walks in a poetry park.
