ARTIST STATEMENT
I prefer to paint my adventures, big or small, because I feel that what I put down on a canvas has more meaning than a quick snapshot. It allows me to think about the details of that day, the environment, how I felt in that moment and from that create pieces using a variety of mediums.
We are fortunate to live in such a beautiful province where untamed nature is in our backyard. We have a great playground that, more often than not, gets taken for granted or treated poorly. My aim is to show just how magical, powerful and important this giant rock is through paint. We are guests in Mother Nature’s house so we best take care of her and all creatures who live here.
BIO
Jessica is a freelance painter and illustrator based out of Vancouver, BC. She is inspired by the world around her and enjoys documenting her adventures through watercolour, ink, acrylics and whatever mediums she can get her hands on.
